75 Godiva Street, Thanksgiving Day, Thursday Afternoon

It was Thanksgiving! The house smelled amazing too, like roasting turkey and sage and simmering apple cider and baking pies. Eliot had outdone himself in the kitchen this year, whipping up the creamiest mashed potatoes, the fluffiest stuffing, and even the crispiest egg rolls Hardison had ever seen. His own contribution was a platter of the croissant-variety Hot Pockets in various flavors.

Look, his TA had requested them and he was gonna provide, dammit.

Now they were finishing up the last few dishes, setting the table, and preparing for a delicious Thanksgiving meal. Not every member of their assorted families could be here today, but every person who was here was family in their own way. For Hardison, found family was infinitely more precious than people just related by blood. Each person had chosen to be here, to be part of this, and--

Shut up, he wasn't getting all misty-eyed. It was the dust. It got all up in his allergies.

[Up super-early I know, but holiday-related SP expected in a big way and also timezones! Sorry to anyone confused, but this post is definitely set for Thursday, Thanksgiving.]

"Yeah huh," Kathy retorted. "And good. I'm pretty sure that if you didn't end up eating, Eliot would glare daggers all through the meal."

No one who worked this hard on making food wanted to see it go to waste.

"Wanna sit down and start putting a plate together? I won't even nag you to try my kimchi." In that she knew it wouldn't work.

Kathy gave him an apologetic smile. "I just want you to have a good time," she said. "I know this isn't your scene, but..." She shrugged. "I'm hoping you can kinda get to know everyone a little bit better. Eliot, Parker, even Raven."

She knew Raven still felt like the odd mutant out sometimes and was hoping this might help ease that a bit.

"But I also don't want to load you up with expectations or whatever. You're here and that's already a big deal."

"It'll be cool, Kat," Dante said, offering her a cocky smirk. "There's a ton of food and a ton of booze. No way this can fail."

"I just want you guys to like each other," she said. She knew that the odds there were slim already--Dante just didn't do adults for the most part--but they were (hopefully) going to all be with her for a long time and it would just make her happy if they didn't just merely tolerate each other for as long as she was in the room.
